4 Marion, Indiana, Chronicle April 6,.1967 Deaths, Funerals 'Owings Mrs. Walter Snazack Glen L. Owings, 62, life, resident of Pleasant Township, died at his home at 6:45 a.m. today, He had been in ill health for the past 16 years. He is survived by his widow, Luella, one daughter, Mrs.

(Janet) Anderson, Marion, one brother, Omer, Pleasant Township, and three grandchildren. Funeral services, will be held at Diggs Home, 504 W. Third with the Rev. Gail Davis officiating. Burial will be in the IO0F Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday. Charles Mott Charles Mott, 52, Urbana, Ohio, died Wednesday at the Cleveland, Ohio, Clinic. Born in Urbana, he had lived there all of his life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are the widow, Frances; four sons, Norbert, Joseph, and Thomas, all of DayOhio, Charles, Bowling Green, Ohio; two daughters, Mary, Dayton, and Theresa, at home; three brothers, Norbert, Marion, Louis, Springfield, Ohio, William, Urbana, and a sister, Clarence Nigh, Urbana. arrangements are incomplete at the Ryan Funeral Home, Urbana. Maj. David Daniels Maj. David C.

Daniels, 32, the son of former Marion residents, died early Wednesday at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D. following a prolonged illness. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C.

Daniels, who formerly lived in Marion. Maj. Daniels was a psychiatry resident on the staff of Walter Reed Hospital. He received his medical from Ohio State University in 1959 and received a U. S.

Army Medical Corps commission in 1962. He was assigned to duty in Heidelberg, Germany, where he met his wife the former Bjorg Siske of Norway, who was a student in Hidelburg. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a brother, Richard E. Daniels, Washington D. his maternal grandmother, Mrs.

G. P. Butterworth, Marion; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Daniels, Sweetser. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.

Friday in the memorial chapel at Walter Reed Hospital. Graveside rites will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Marion I00F Cemetery, with the Rev. Stuart Saul officiating. Lillie Weimer Mrs.

Lillie Weimer, 86, died at 6:15 a.m. today at the Emily Flinn Home. She had been a resident of the home for seven years. ,4 A member of the Hammond First Christian Church, she is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Robert M.

Sigler, Fullerton, and one niece. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at -10 a.m. in the Emily Flinn Chapel with the Rev. O. J.

He's stationed near Germany, Hearing on the petition filed in Grant Circuit Court for declaration of a bond for the release of Mrs. Charlene Meade, chargwith first degree murder, and counter motion to deny ball will be conducted before Judge Manuel P. Guerrero on April 14. Originally the hearing was to have been held last Monday, but it was delayed because Grant County Prosecutor Dana Mann was in Portland in connection with the Edith Schmidt murder trial.

A Judge Guerrero said the petition for bond was filed by John Healy, Indianapolis attorney, representing Mrs. Meade, and the motion to deny was presented by Richard Ray, deputy prosecutor. Judge Guerrero today said the hearing will be held along with the arraignment of Mrs. Meade. The woman, 24, residing in Southern Grant County, was charged by the Grant County Grand Jury with first degree murder of her husband, James Meade, 26, Marion factory employe.

1 Ballots Received Grant County Clerk Ray Hickam has received paper ballots for Gas City and Marlion primary elections and now will focus his attention on preparing the list of candidates to be placed in the county's voting machines. The county election board, which includes Ray Benjamin and David Kiley in addition to Hickam, ordered 200 ballets for each major party for use in Gas City and 1,500 ballots for each party for Marion voters. The ballots are used for absentee voters and also are available as emergency ballots. Officials said the emergency ballots can be used in case a voting machine becomes inoperable, although such a situation never has occurred. Thirty-six machines are being set up for the primary elections.

Four will be sent to Gas City's two -precincts, and -the others will be placed in the Marion precincts. Charles Road Inspection Conducted Three viewers who were appointed by the Grant County Board of Commissioners to study a request for vacation of Charles Road from east of King Road to Bethlehem Road made an inspection of the area today. The trio includes Rex Stimax, Marion; Loren Winger, Converse, and William Phillips, for closing the road was filed by Attorney Michael Kiley. Elma Crain Vs. Wende 11 Craln. Divorce. Manslaughter Trial Delay Granted Judge Manuel P. Guerrero of Grant Circuit Court today reported has granted a request for the delay in the trial of John Myers, 20, Marion, charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting last Sept.

23 of Michael D. Cain, 22, also of Marion. The trial which already had delayed from Feb. 20 at the request of Myers was to have started this Monday in Circuit Court. The request for a new time made by Grant County Prosecutor Dane Mann in behalf of the defense attorney, Thurman Biddinger, who is in Florida.

The Grant County Grand Jury returned an indictment of manslaughter after completing its investigation of the case. Retired Teachers Plan Visit to Home Officials of the Grant County Retired Teachers' Association today, reported plans have been completed for members of the organization to visit Greenwood Village at Greenwood, on April 19. The village is the Indiana Teachers' Retirement Home. Members going will leave Memorial Coliseum at 8 a.m. and will return at 6 p.m.

Marion Community Schools' authorities have arranged for association members to park cars for the day on the west side of the colium. The trip including the luncheon will cost $4.75 per person. Checks are to be mailed to Miss Margarets, no Overshiner, later than 3633 April S. 12. Tentative plans call for a trip to Brown County the third week in May.

The association will complete its first year with a guest luncheon at 1 p.m. on May 3 at the Hostess House. James Ruble. City Court A 20-year-old Boylston man, Robert Bower, was sentenced to 90 days in the Grant County Jail and fined $100 and costs Wednesday's court session by Special Judge Allan Diodore after Bower pleaded guilty to a charge of issuing a fraudulent check. The check was dated Feb. 21 and written on the First National Bank in Marion. It was signed by Bower and delivered to Daniel Stevens, manager of Fashion Fair in the amount of $48.79.

In other court action, speeding, charges were dismissed against David Beckett, 24, Mar. ion, and Alan Wilson, 20, 1103 S. Branson St. Alva Smith, 66, 219 E. Second was fined $1 and costs for public intoxication.

A damage suit for $66.50, which had been venued to City Court from Franklin Township Justice of the Peace Mildred M. Cox, was dismissed against Henry A. Fleck and Dommick F. Notorangelo. The suit had been filed by Oscar Britton, 800 N.
