The Webster County Jail is a minimum security facility with a separate building dedicated to restricted custody inmates, located in Dixon, Kentucky. The county jail houses both male and female offenders who have been arrested and charged with either misdemeanor or felony offenses. Inmates in the County Jail can be from the county or statewide. The County Jail offers religious services several nights a week and also on Sunday Morning, and offers GED, AA, MRT, & NCRC classes. In addition, the County Jail has work programs available to both male and female inmates. The current jailer is Greg Sauls.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates have the right to receive mail from friends and family while incarcerated. Letters are accepted and the addresses on the envelope must be hand-written in either black or blue ink. The letter must include a return address with the sender’s full name. Mail is opened and inspected for contraband. Send mail in the following format to this address:

Inmates may also have other items sent in within 14 days of their booking date and all items must be sent straight from the distributor, such as Walmart or Amazon. The inmate must fill out the property request form before the items can be accepted. Inmates are allowed to receive 3 books, 5 white t-shirts, 5 pairs of underwear, 5 pairs of socks, 1 set of thermals, 3 bras with no underwire for female inmates, and work boots or tennis shoes.

Family and friends can add money to an inmate’s commissary account in person between the hours of 7 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday. To drop off money after hours, money can be added to the inmate account through the kiosks in the lobby of the detention center. Funds may also be mailed in the form of money orders. All money orders must be paid to the order of Webster County Detention Center, signed by the purchaser, and with the inmate’s name written in the memo line. Any money order not filled out like this will be returned. The easiest and most accessible way to add money to an account is online using the website Care-A-Cell.

Visitation Hours

Inmates in the County Jail are allowed to visit with their friends and family once a week for a total of 15 minutes. All visits are no contact. All visitors 18 and older must provide a government issued identification card, and visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No cell phones or audio/video recording devices are permitted in the visitation area. Visitation hours for females are on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 10am. Males have visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 3pm, and any inmates in protective custody are allowed visits on Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm to 4pm.

The County Jail has an inmate jail roster available for the public to view. The roster lists all current inmates housed in the jail. Inmates can be searched by their first and last name. The jail roster lists the inmate’s full name, birth date, booking date, arresting agency, bond amount, and charges they were arrested for.

Webster County Public Records Information

Fees for any open records requests must be paid in advance before copies can be obtained. Copies of records cost fifty cents per page. The request must be given to the county clerk.
