It's not. It's the major resort throughout the whole game and without the expansion, the whole base game is built around V reaching Mikoshi to save themselves. It's the only solution V has without PL. Also, original V dies after Dex shoots them. There is no original V after that. Just a mix of V and digital engram of Silverhand. A human-AI hybrid.

The confession is not deathbed because the moment V asks "what am I supposed to do?" she says "you'll move on and keep fighting" - if she were to die, she'd say "take the cure since I am about to die". Instead she says that, meaning she still hopes to get into that rocket and fly to the Moon. There's no deathbed confession because she starts revealing the truth before checking out completely, and she is completely self aware and is capable of describing what the matrix does in precise terms.Besides, V can easily negotiate Presidential pardon for bringing So Mi back into custody, and that point is actually heavily brought up in the original iteration of PL. And, guess what? V does get pardoned in Swords.

She gets cured - she is cut off from the Blackwall - no threat from her.Also, V makes a deal with Mr. B in The Sun ending and trusts him. Is V making a mistake and gonna be controlled, too?
