The Hypixel Pit - Everything Guide (2024)

This is a thread about almost everything you will need to know on The Pit. Please add suggestions in the comments so I can make this post better. Enjoy

Note: I didn't know how to add pictures because I have no idea how to put them where I want to.

So when you first log in, there isn't much to do. Some things you can do are check the leaderboards, do random stuff in spawn, and /respawn. /Respawn sends you to spawn if you are not in spawn and out of combat.
Combat lasts for 15 seconds and will say "fighting" on the sidebar. It can last longer than 15 seconds if you have a high bounty.
The sidebar includes prestige, level, XP needed to level up, your status (idle or fighting), gold one of the main currencies, and can change depending on the events, which I will go into depth later.
So you jump down and fight, you will very quickly reach level 5. At level 5 you can do /pitchat and select what you can see in the chat. After fighting for a little longer, you will reach level 10. At level 10, you unlock upgrades. You will most likely not have enough gold to buy anything but it is still there if you need it. You get gold and XP from all kills. XP helps you level up and gold is used as one of the main currencies.
At the upgrades villager you will see perk slots and upgrades. You unlock your first perk at level 10. I will get into perks later.
There are 7 upgrades you can buy from the upgrades villager. Each upgrade goes up to level/tier 5.

1. The first upgrade is XP boost, blue dye, which gives you +10% more XP from most sources per tier.

2. The second upgrade is gold boost, orange dye, which gives you +10% more gold from kills and gold pickups from gold ingots (spawn outside of the spawn area and give 3 gold at base but increased with gold boosts), per tier

3. The third upgrade is melee damage, red dye, which lets you deal +1% more melee damage per tier.

4. The fourth upgrade is bow damage, yellow dye, which lets you deal +3% more damage with a bow per tier.

5. The fifth upgrade is damage reduction, cyan dye, which makes you take -1% less damage per tier.

6. The sixth upgrade is build battler, bone meal, which makes blocks placed by you last +60% longer per tier.

7. The last upgrade is El Gato, Cake, which gives you +5 gold and +5 XP for the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th kill of each life, increased number of affected kills by tier.

After grinding a little longer, you will reach level 15. Level 15 unlocks the ender chest which holds 27 items. Items in an ender chest can not go away unless you die with them. After grinding for a bit, you will reach level 30. You should have already unlocked your first perk at level 10 and level 30 allows you to do novice contracts.

Perks are special upgrades which give you boosts and changes the way you play. Perks can be cheap or really expensive. There are 14 perks which can be bought at the start.

Golden Heads: Instead of getting golden apples on kill, they turn into golden heads which are generally better.

Fishing Rod: Gives you a fishing rod, can be used for pvp or fishing.

Lava Bucket: Gives you lava bucket, can be picked up once placed, placed lava despawns after short period or after death. Lava deals 1.5 damage normally, can be reduced, per tick.

Strength Chaining: Gives you an +8% damage boost per kill, stacking up to "strength" 5 allowing you to deal up to +40% damage. Lasts for 7 seconds, timer reset on kill.

Endless Quiver: If you hit an arrow on a player, not including yourself, you get 3 more arrows.

Mineman: spawn with 24 cobblestone and a diamond pickaxe, get 3 cobblestone on kill. You can only mine placed blocks, always.

Safety first: Spawn with a chain helmet.

Trickle Down: Gold ingots give +10 more gold and heal 2 full hearts (4 HP).

Lucky Diamond: Dropped iron pieces have a 30% chance to turn into diamond gear, and if they turn into diamond gear they are warped into your inventory. The diamond gear obtained from this is a perk item and can not be dropped. Otherwise, it acts like regular diamond gear. Can not get diamond helmets.

Spammer: Double base gold on players you kill that you have shot an arrow in. Base gold is 10 gold. Earn +2 gold on assists that you have shot an arrow in.

Bounty Hunter: Earn +4 gold on all kills. deal +1% damage to players with bounty, stacking for +1% per 100 gold on their bounty. Have gold leggings on instead of regular armor, unless you have certain pants on.

Streaker: If you have a killstreak of 3, you will get bonus XP, gaining more XP the higher streak you have.

Gladiator: Take -3% damage per player in a 12 block radius. There must be at least 3 players to activate (-9% damage) and max is -30% damage.

Vampire: Don't earn healing items, Heal 0.5 hearts (1 HP) on hit, 1.5 on fully charged bow shot hit. Get regeneration 1 for 8 seconds after a kill.

At level 30 you also unlock contracts which you have to pay gold to start but will reward more gold if you finish. At level 30 you can only do novice contracts but there are big time contracts which cost more gold to start, are harder, and reward more gold. You can also start quests like any other regular Hypixel Minigame. At level 35 you also unlock your second perk.
After some time you get to level 50 which you unlock the stats villager. Here you can look at your stats and see things like how much gold you have obtained and how many kills you have.

Some more grinding and you reach level 60. At level 60 you unlock /trade which allows you to send gold and items between players. You may send/receive up to 50k gold per day and you may complete 12 trades a day.
By now you probably have enough gold to buy items from the non-permanent items shop. The items here are usually a diamond sword for 150 gold, 8 obsidian for 50 gold, a diamond chest plate for 500 gold, and diamond boots for 300 gold. These things are not regularly recommended unless you have excess gold or are planning on making the gold spent on the gear back. Level 60 is when things start to take a little longer to move along and leveling slows. At level 70 you unlock your last perk for now.
After quite some time, you finally reach the max level of 120. This is when you can prestige. Most diamond gear and other things lost on death will be reset from your inventory when you prestige. Items in your ender chest stay safe and do not reset. Your gold is reset to 0, perks and upgrades are lost, and you are set to level 1. Now to level up you need 10% more XP than before. The 10% will gradually increase every prestige. You have now unlocked the renown shop. You gained 10 renown with the prestige and now you can get renown from major events. There are 6 things you can buy at prestige 1 from the renown shop. Things purchased in the renown shop do not need to be equipped in the "upgrades" menu unless they have the "Perk unlock" prefix.
Prestige 1 possible renown unlocks:

1. Tenacity: heals 0.5 hearts on kill. Tenacity goes up to tier 2 meaning you can heal up to 1 heart, 2 HP, Per kill.

2. Scam artist: Non permanent items, mystic enchants, and contract starting prices cost -5% per tier, up to tier 5.

3. Small gold boost: earn +2.5% gold from kills per tier, up to tier 10.

4. Small XP bump: Earn +1 XP per kill per tier, up to tier 10.

5. Perk Unlock Overheal: This is a perk unlock and will need to be purchased in the upgrades menu for gold and will take up a perk slot. Overheal doubles the number of healing items you can hold, doesn't affect vampire.

6. Mystism: Unlocks mystic well and gives you a chance to get mystic bows/swords from kills. Very very low chance. Can only enchant the bows and swords to tier 2 for now. Tier 4 mystism allows you to get colored pants (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue), from kills but you can't enchant them. These colored pants are used to make your bow/sword into tier 3. Every tier that doesn't unlock something important in mystism increases mystic drop rates. At mystism 9, you unlock the ability to enchant pants. Pants require the same color of pants to tier 3. For example, if you want to make red pants tier 3, you will need red pants as a sacrifice. Sacrificed pants depend on the bow/sword if you are making a bow or sword tier 3. There are other pants which can't be obtained with mystism alone but still require mystism to enchant.

You may also save your renown for future upgrades.

By now you have probably done many major and minor events. Here is a list of all minor and major events.

Minor Events:
1. 2x rewards from certain area of the map, lasts for 4 minutes.

2. King of the Hill (KOTH) rewards 4x rewards if you get a kill on the small platform, lasts for 4 minutes.

3. King of the Ladder (KOTL) gives you gold every seconds you are at the top or part of the top. Less people means more gold. There are different buildings which can spawn. Lasts for 3 minutes.

4. Giant Cake is a giant cake spawned on part of the map which is made up of smaller cakes. Eating cakes gives you gold, eating a whole cake gives you bonus gold, and there are special cake parts which reward special buffs.

5. Care package is a chest that spawns in parts of the map. It needs 200 clicks then it can be opened. Holds random loot, usually mystics and diamond gear.

6: Auction is a random item, usually mystics, auctioned by the server. There are special items that can only be obtained in auction which are funky feather, mystic repair kit, philosopher's cactus, paparazzi, and pit MBA. Funky feather saves you inventory on death if it is in your hot bar. Mystic repair kit fully repairs a mystic item to full lives. Philosopher's cactus allows you to get a fresh pant of your choice (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, or Blue). Paparazzi is a mystic enchant and gives you a bonus from major events. Pit MBA gives you bonus gold and XP if there is a certain number of players nearby.

7: Dragon egg, get XP on dragon egg, increasing with each click. Gold always stays the same per click. Teleports after short period. Spawns in middle part of map.

8: 100 gold bounty all, gives everyone on the server a bounty of 100 gold.

9: Quick maths, you have to answer a math question, top 5 fastest get rewards.

Major events:
1. Rage pit, side areas of the map are locked and everyone is forced in the middle. Very chaotic. Vampire is disabled.

2. Raffle, tickets spawn around the map, like gold but more often, and you have to get these tickets to the middle raffle box. If you die, you lose your tickets in your inventory. Only 3 players win the jackpot. More tickets means a higher chance to win.

3. Robbery, you have a stash of gold and you can steal gold from players. You can steal a lot of gold if you kill them. You lose a lot of your stash if you get die. If you get hit you lose some of your gold. If you hit someone else you gain a little bit of gold.

4. Beast, There are 3 beasts on the map. You gain 3x gold and XP from kills as beast. Every 5 seconds you are alive you get 250 gold. You have twice as much health. No Vampire or tenacity healing. If you kill the beast, you become the new beast. If you live as beast till the end, you get diamond armor with the tag "Beast Reward"

5. Spire, an area is spawned. You jump into the main hole at spawn. You get kills, you go up a floor, you die, you go down a floor. Healing items are gained after a kill. Healing items are really good. Inventory is stashed away. Getting kills gets harder the higher up you go. No mystics.

6. Blockhead, you have to get as many blocks on the floor to turn into the block that is yours. You can change blocks by getting kills or quick trail which is a powerup that spawns during blockhead.

7. Team deathmatch, you are placed in a random team. There are 2 teams, red and blue. Team with most kills at the end wins.

8. Squads, 3 people on a team. You must capture flags which passively gain points if they are captured by you. You can also gain points from kills. You can chose your squad.

9. Pizza, Deliver pizza which is obtained from the hut. There are villagers that spawn often and reward different amounts of money. You have to deliver money back to the hut for it to count.
Minor events happen randomly and happen a lot. Major events happen every 35-50 minutes.

Now that you've prestige, you will have to unlock all the level requirements such as level 60 for /trade and level 15 for ender chest. You also have blue brackets. Bracket [] colors change depending on your prestige.

Prestige 0: Gray brackets
Prestige 1-4: Blue brackets
Prestige 5-9: Yellow brackets
Prestige 10-14: Orange brackets
Prestige 15-19: Red brackets
Prestige 20-24: Purple Brackets
Prestige 25-29: Pink Brackets
Prestige 30: White brackets

Now with all this in mind, you may still not know exactly how the leaderboards work. At first, leaderboards will show the top players that have been online the season. You may see a bunny on the right of the leaderboards. Clicking this bunny will open a menu which allows you to toggle between different leaderboards. You can toggle between top players for highest prestige or top players for certain major and minor events.
Now you know most of everything in the pit, but there is still a lot more to do with the renown shop you have not unlocked. You will now continue to play and prestige.

I may make a lot of mistakes in the renown unlocks list

Prestige 2 renown possible unlocks:
Perk Unlock Barbarian: Replaces your iron sword, which deals 6 HP damage, with an iron axe that deals 7 HP. Also, instead of buying a diamond sword from the shop, you can buy a diamond axe for 150 gold which deals 8 HP damage.
Perk Unlock Dirty: Gives you resistance 2 for 4 seconds after a kill.
Contractor: You can do +1 contracts per tier upgraded, up to tier 5.
Fishing club: allows you to get better loot from fishing, up to tier 5. Tier 5 fishing club allows you to get aqua pants which have 2 enchants, 1 that gives you a rod and another that usually helps with fishing. Costs 5k gold to enchant and requires mystism
Heresy: Mystic counter, costs a lot more gold to enchant. Can have up to 120 lives. Costs 4 chunks of vile and 2 renown to craft dark pants. Price reduced per tier, up to tier 3 costing 2 chunks of vile to create but still 2 renown. At tier 3 heresy, you can enchant dark pants to tier 2, but it's expensive. You can get chunks of vile from contracts or night quests, which are assigned at night and usually require getting kills somehow. Can't use mystics with dark pants.

Superb launch trail: leaves a trail behind you when you use a launcher.

Prestige 3 renown possible unlocks:

Fourth perk slot: Allows you to equip a fourth perk but you can't use the fourth perk slot until level 100.
Impatient: Gives speed 2 in spawn
Perk Unlock Rambo: You can only have 8 max hearts but heal all health after a kill, sometimes is buggy.

Prestige 4 possible renown unlocks:
Extra hearts: gives an extra heart (2 HP) per tier, up to tier 2
Perk Unlock Olympus: Earn 1 potion on kill and can only store 1 normally. Potions are really good for healing but you can still die with them.
Armory: Have +8 arrows at spawn per tier, up to tier 4.

Prestige 5 possible renown unlocks:
Fancy hat: Can choose your hat color. Gives half an armor bar of protection but does not take up a perk slot.
Perk Unlock First Strike: First strike on an opponent gives speed 1 for 5 seconds and deals +35% more damage.
Yummy: Golden apples and golden heads eaten give +2 gold.

Prestige 6 possible renown unlocks:
Perk Unlock Marathon: Can't wear boots, but if you have speed you take -15% damage and deal +15% damage.
Divine intervention: +5% chance to save your inventory on death per tier, up to tier 3.
Blazing launch trail: Leaves a trail behind you as you fly with the launcher.

Prestige 7 possible renown unlocks:
Perk Unlock Soups: Healing item, get 1 soup on kill OR assist. Can hold 4. Buffed healing in recent update.
Perk Unlock Recon: Fourth bow shot at someone gives 40 XP and deals +50% damage.
Apollo: Sends you to the nearest area that you can possibly land at if you are looking near it.

Prestige 8 possible renown unlocks:
The Way: Allows you to use all 3/4 perk slots at any level and can use any perk at any level. Still costs gold to buy.
Perk Unlock Conglomerate: You can't get XP from kills, but all the XP you would have gotten is converted to gold, 1 gold every 5 XP.
Big bang launch trail: Trail that is shown when launching, ALL trails are cosmetic.

Prestige 9 possible renown unlocks:
Perk Unlock Kung Fu: You can only use your fist for melee damage, does around same damage as a diamond sword. Every fourth hit on someone gives you speed 2 for 5 seconds.

Prestige 10 possible renown unlocks:
Fast pass: Start at level 50 after every prestige.
Cool conclave: Unlocks /cool, /cool shows "high" prestige players.

Prestige 11: Nothing

Prestige 12: nothing

Prestige 13 possible renown unlocks:
Raw numbers: Show exactly how much damage you deal to players.

Prestige 14: Nothing

Prestige 15 possible renown unlocks:
Bounty cloak: Shows bounty effect in lobbies if you active the cloak.

Nothing after prestige 15 for now.

Recommendations:
At prestige 1 buy mystism or tenacity, Doesn't matter too much in the long run whichever you buy.
At prestige 2 buy dirty, it's overpowered resistance 2 makes you nearly unkillable for its duration.
At prestige 3 try to buy the fourth perk slot. It may take forever to get to use, but it's insane at low prestiges to have an extra perk.
At prestige 4 get Olympus, it's awesome for casual play.
At prestige 5 get Fancy hat and First strike. Fancy hat is partly a replacement for safety first since it doesn't take up a perk slot. First strike is good since you can combo people easily with the speed. Getting a crit with the first hit can deal a lot of damage.
At prestige 6 I recommend getting nothing since nothing at prestige 6 is too useful.
At prestige 7 get soups since it can be a fun replacement. It also got buffed recently.
Prestige 8 get the way, it's essential.
At prestige 9 you can get kung fu if you want to, but it recently got nerfed.
At prestige 10 you shouldn't buy anything, but cool conclave is cheap so you can buy that if you want. Have mystism maxed by this prestige.
At prestige 13 and 15, I recommend you wait to buy raw numbers and bounty cloak.

Once you have every "recommended" renown upgrade, you should try to work on maxing everything out.

There are also some common perk layouts people use.
If you are playing with vampire and outside of the obby box, use vampire, dirty, first strike, and safety first/gladiator.
If you have vampire and are in an obby box use vampire, dirty, strength chaining, and gladiator.
For rage pit replace vampire in the first layout with Rambo.
If you are using Olympus you probably aren't in an obby box. Use Olympus, dirty, a damage perk, and a protecting perk.
For soups you may be in or out of an obby box.
If you are out of an obby box use soups, dirty, damage perk, and a defensive perk.
In obby box use soups, dirty, strength chaining and gladiator.

If healing is in items, not using vampire, then you can replace something with overheal to get double healing items. This works for everything. Some may disagree with my recommendations.

Recent update stuff:

Heresy was part of the update. There was also raw numbers added. Most things added were in the new map, which is currently not used, but is in rotation. Maps change every Tuesday. On the new map, there was the king's quest and sewers added. For king's quest you need to turn in a cake, get 100 kills, and get 10 renown from major events. Cake needs 1 cherry to be crafted, 2 milk, 6 eggs, 12 suger, and 40 hay bales. Cherry randomly drops on kill. Milk can be found in the sewers. Eggs can be obtained with the eggs enchant or by feeding chickens in the shooting range bread. At the left corner of the jungle area, there are targets. There is also a three block long like which if you stand and shoot the targets, chickens fly out and you are rewarded a small amount of gold. You get hay bales by farming fully grown wheat. You need a stack of wheat. Once you get a stack of wheat, you can find the crafting tables, click them, and get hay bales. The same works for bread, but instead of crafting tables you need furnaces. The wheat will "cook" for 10 seconds. Wheat heals 4 hearts and gives 1 absorption heart. Wheat is farmed at the "Farm" area. Farm is the orange flag. The reward from the king's quest is a lot of gold, a lot of XP, and a golden helmet which is as strong as diamond. It gives +10% XP from kills and has 5 lives.

There is a designated area for fishing now. One of the boats in the fishing area or "Port" used to have a chef which you turn the ingredients in to so you can get the cake. It was said the chef moves though. Port is the red flag area.

In the jungle there are also ziplines you can ride, one player at a time. Jungle is the green flag area.

In the town area, there are sewers. In the sewers, there are treasure chests that spawn in set location. The chests spawn a lot and the sewers aren't that hard to learn. Chests can give sewer rubbish, sewer pants, radioactive boots, XP, gold, diamond gear, and milk. Milk gives regen 1 for 2 minutes and is not keep on death. It is rare so don't drink it. Sewer rubbish can be turned in to the sewer fish if you have 64 of it for sewer pants. Radioactive boots are cosmetic leather boots. The town area is the blue flag.

Sewer pants have 4 enchants and can have up to 30 lives. These enchants are easy to remember so I will list them here.

Worm: Gives permanent speed 1 in sewers and gives bonus XP from kills in sewers.

Aegis: Blocks 1 hit every 9 seconds.

Hidden jewel: if you get 117 kills without dying, can respawn, you get a tier 3 enchant on a tier 1 mystic. The only way to get tier 3 enchants on tier 1 mystics is from hidden jewel.

Trash panda: If you are out of combat, you can right click the pants to access every spawn menu outside of spawn. If you are in the map with the sewers, you will teleport to the sewers if you die. If not, it's regular respawn.

There is also a website called pit.blue which is made by Minikloon. It allows you to look at other player's stats, inventory, Ender Chest, and other stuff. It works like plancke. You just search a name in the search bar on pitblue and you can explore from there.

This was just about everything you will need to know in The Pit. Hope you learned something if you are new The Hypixel Pit - Everything Guide (1)[/SPOILER]
